At the mention of Mazowe, most people immediately think of ‘Mazowe Orange Crush,’ an orange juice proudly Zimbabwean made at the Mazowe Citrus Estates. Interestingly Mazowe is now exported to the Zimbabwean diaspora in mass. Mazowe is, however, a village in Mashonaland Central, on the banks of the Mazowe River. The Mazowe Dam was built in 1918 as a source of water for the citrus estates, soya, wheat and maize farms. The Dam has a capacity of 39.35 Million Cubic metres of water.
